this is more of post script to the blog about sears posted a few months back; it brought back such wonderful memories that i wanted to throw in my two cents worth!

not that the world is a bad place today but rather more complex than say back in the 1950's and 60's when the whole family would pile in the car on a saturday and head over to sears and get everything they needed at one store,including a trip to the sears candy counter for a bag of hot roasted nuts or bridge mix or as my fellow blogger mentioned the best malted milk balls in the world!

unlike the shopping experience of todays walmart, i don't recall rude people pushing past you,unsupervised kids running wild and the sound of profanity through out the store. it was indeed a pleasure to shop at sears back in the day.

do you know why Christmas use to be so special at sears? because there wasn't the slightest hint of the holidays untill mid November, now the stores are putting up their decorations as early as july and by the time December gets here most of us are sick of it after months of Christmas being pushed down our throats.

so if anybody has a time machine, please just drop me off at sears 1969 .....
